Teaching CV
Shane Cullinan - Composer
"Ian Massa-Harris consistently delivers solid performances and does so with commitment and natural flair"
Benjamin Till - Composer/Director
"Ian is a talented, personable and conciencious singer. He is a talented actor and will give anything a try, which is a rare thing in the opera world. I've have worked with him now on 3 occasions and felt privileged to direct him in Cosi fan tutte. He made a very convincing Don Alfonso. I look forward to working with him in the future."
David Bray - Conductor / Editor Boosey & Hawkes
"Ian Massa-Harris’s vocal workshop using Cathy Berberian’s Stripsody was a quite extraordinary event. I could not have imagined hearing forty people singing with the degree of imagination, panache, exuberance and humour that he elicited from them. Initial inhibitions were quickly forgotten. Ian’s own singing during the workshop inspired and stimulated, and his approach to technique complemented perfectly what I wanted from the choir in the concert they were preparing. Heartily recommended to any singing group, large or small. "
Students
Catrin Jones - Brunel University
"After working with Ian on two very different musicals, I found him to be a very competent vocal teacher. His knowledge with regards to breathing, posture, vocal exercises were of immense help to me and i benefited from them hugely. In addition, his friendly and lively natured personality made the rehearsals fun and interesting, which increased our quality as performers. I am truly grateful for his help and advice, and can only hope that i will work with him again in the future"
